Robert Hass- Biography

Robert Hass grew up in California, which, along with his family, greatly influenced his poetry career. He lived most of his life here as he studied, married, and had a family. Earning a Ph. D. and having the beautiful nature of California at his disposal also aided in his success. The link provided elaborates on these life accomplishments and also on the works Hass has published.
Robert Hass is also know for his ability to translate Haiku poetry. Growing up in California, he grew to know more about the Asian culture which influenced his love for Japanese Haiku because it gets right to the point. Hass was awarded as the 8th Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress. This honor was awarded to him in 1995 because of his gifted ability of translating Japanese Haiku. To learn more follow the link provided.
